Outreach
Outreach
Outreach is an important part of the ministry of the Church of the Messiah. We currently have two outreach funds.
•• Lucille Reid Outreach Fund
This outreach fund began in 2005 as a way to honor Mrs. Lucille Reid, a longtime member of the Church of the Messiah, former educator and children’s advocate. A retired school teacher with more than 35 years of service in the local school system, she was a mentor and special friend to many residents and former students in our community. At her death at the age of 102 in 2005, the church decided to honor her legacy by establishing The Lucille Reid Outreach Fund to provide help and support for under privileged children in the Mayodan, Madison, and Stoneville area. This fund has provided assistance for tutoring, clothes, shoes, school supplies and fees to help children participate in field trips and school activities. This fund also enables us to support the local Backpack Pals Program which provides much needed nutrition for many children in our community.
•• General Outreach Fund
This fund enables us to provide assistance to individuals and families struggling in our community. It also enables us to provide financial assistance to organizations in our community that provide needed services to those in need.
All loose offering each Sunday goes to our outreach funds.
